call (my Uncle’s George’s Epigraph to his autobiography)
God spoke too and wonders happened
We were no longer for ourselves alone
I stood as others on the brink of death and life
Having first been led through empowering places
Along a path to surprise beginnings
And to the grace of redemptive moments amid all the madness
response
And only warriors can know
How much it weighs
Standing on the constant knife edge
Of decision (taken, acquired, and given)
Here (at the tip of The Spear)
We stand mad and alone with joy and terror.
